Building Pathology Surveyor

Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance

Midlands and surrounding areas (M62 corridor)

We are currently partnering with a specialist consultancy within the Building Pathology sector to recruit a Senior Consultant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in building surveying, structural investigations, or defect analysis to take ownership of projects and work closely with clients across a diverse portfolio.

This is a varied position combining technical investigations, project management, and client-facing responsibilities. You will manage projects from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring a high standard of delivery.

We are ideally seeking someone based in the Midlands and surrounding areas but can be flexible on this for some areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Condition surveys (intrusive and non-destructive)
  • Lead and deliver building pathology projects
  • Concrete assessments (composition, deterioration, corrosion)
  • Water ingress investigations and remediation planning
  • Non-destructive testing (GPR, ultrasonic pulse echo, etc.)
  • Building investigations for repurposing and design input
  • Coordinating laboratory testing and interpreting results
  • Produce and review clear, high-quality technical reports
  • Manage projects to meet safety, quality, and budget goals
  • Build strong client relationships and deliver practical solutions
  • Plan resources, allocate tasks, and monitor performance
  • Contribute to risk management and cost control

Key Skills:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Background in building surveying, structural engineering, or investigations
  • Some exposure to project management and delivery
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients and teams
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of budgets
  • Problem-solving mindset with a collaborative approach
  • Commitment to safety and quality
