The Payroll Clerk is a part-time, on-site position based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. In this role, the Payroll Clerk will accurately process weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring that all employees are paid correctly and on time. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining payroll records
  • Inputting and updating employee data
  • Calculating hours, overtime, and deductions
  • Reconciling payroll reports
  • Managing payroll queries from employees and managers
  • Resolving discrepancies and escalating issues when needed
  • Assisting with statutory payments
  • Supporting payroll-related audits
  • Coordinating with the accounting team on payroll journals
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant legislation
  • Registering staff on payroll and HR systems

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Proficiency in analysing payroll data
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices related to payroll
