The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior National Account Manager to join our high-performing sales team and take ownership of key national customer relationships.

This is a high-profile commercial role where you’ll shape and deliver customer strategy, own account P&L, lead Joint Business Planning, and drive sustainable growth across both branded and own-label portfolios. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to unlock category growth, improve performance, and build long-term partnerships in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the commercial strategy for major UK retail accounts, leading the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process and delivering volume, value and margin targets.
  • Own and execute customer strategies, ensuring strong alignment on forecasts, promotional activity and long-term growth plans.
  • Partner closely with supply chain and internal teams to deliver accurate forecasting, promotional modelling and flawless execution.
  • Shape range, distribution and promotional strategies, influencing shelf-space, pack architecture, NPD and private-label growth.
  • Translate insight into action by analysing EPOS data, category trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and drive performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, category teams, operations, supply chain and finance, acting as the voice of the customer internally.
  • Manage and track investment budgets, invoices and claims with precision and accuracy.
  • Coach and develop team members where applicable, supporting high performance and progression.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and relevant retail and industry standards.

About You

  • Proven experience in a Senior National Account Manager or National Account Manager role within FMCG or large-scale retail, ideally UK grocery.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering customer growth in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills, confident operating at senior buyer level.
  • Data and insight driven, with strong capability in EPOS, category analysis, forecasting and turning insight into action.
  • Experience across both branded and own-label portfolios is highly desirable.
  • A clear communicator and confident presenter, able to lead meetings and deliver compelling strategic plans.
  • Technically proficient, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Leadership experience, either formally or informally, is an advantage.
