The Role

Reporting to the Business Unit Controller for Wholesale and Convenience, the Senior National Account Manager will take ownership of key national customer relationships and play a critical role in driving sustainable growth across the business.

This is a high-profile commercial role where you will shape and deliver customer strategy, own account P&L, lead Joint Business Planning, and drive performance across both branded and own-label portfolios. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to unlock category growth, improve commercial performance, and build long-term partnerships in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage key national customer accounts, delivering agreed sales and profit targets
  • Lead Joint Business Planning and long-term customer strategy
  • Manage full account P&L, forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Drive growth across branded and own-label ranges
  • Identify and deliver new commercial and category growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams including supply chain, marketing and finance to ensure aligned execution
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with customers and key stakeholders

About You

We’re looking for a commercially driven individual who combines strategic thinking with a hands‑on approach. You’ll be confident operating in complex customer environments and committed to delivering sustainable results.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in a Senior National Account Manager or National Account Manager role within FMCG or large‑scale retail, ideally UK grocery
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering customer growth
  • Experience owning account P&L and leading Joint Business Planning
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship‑building skills
  • Analytical, organised, and comfortable using data to drive decisions
  • Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
