The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our Commercial Finance team and play a key role in supporting profitable, sustainable growth across the business. This is a highly commercial role, partnering closely with Commercial Managers to provide clear insight into gross margin performance, supplier funding, pricing and promotions. You’ll help shape investment decisions, improve visibility of supplier performance, and ensure commercial activity delivers maximum return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted business partner to our largest supplier relationship, while supporting additional key suppliers.
- Own and deliver supplier gross margin analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and clear insight into performance drivers.
- Manage and control multiple supplier funding pots, providing transparency and proactive recommendations.
- Deliver pricing and promotional analysis using internal systems and advanced Excel tools.
- Provide clear, actionable insight to Commercial and Sales teams to support decision-making.
- Support and champion change initiatives, improving how systems and data are used across the business.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
- Respond to ad hoc analysis, reporting and presentation requests with pace, accuracy and commercial focus.
- Produce high-quality outputs suitable for senior stakeholder review.
About You
- Fully or Part Qualified CIMA / ACA / ACCA.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Proven experience providing commercial insight, ideally within FMCG, retail or wholesale environments.
- Confident communicator, able to build strong working relationships at all levels.
- Highly organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Commercially minded, self-motivated and comfortable providing robust investment advice.
- Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Alteryx experience is useful but not essential.
