The Role:
You’ll be responsible for the design and development of electronics hardware across a range of advanced systems, contributing to both new product development and continuous improvement of existing designs. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence design decisions and ensure high standards across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop analogue and digital electronics hardware
- Work on low power, low noise system design
- Lead hardware design reviews and support technical decision making
- Develop and support embedded firmware (C / C++)
- Carry out hands-on fault finding across hardware and embedded systems
- Ensure designs meet EMC and regulatory compliance standards
- Produce clear and structured technical documentation
- Collaborate across engineering and production teams
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in electronics hardware design (analogue & digital)
- Experience working with FPGA, MPU, or similar architectures
- Good understanding of low power and low noise system design
- Knowledge of EMC design and testing standards
- Experience with embedded C or C++ on microprocessors
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and design direction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Desirable Experience:
- Experience with PCB design tools (e.g. Altium)
- Experience working on complex or high-reliability systems
- Background in instrumentation, data logging, or similar technologies
- Experience supporting production or manufacturing environments
Additional Information:
- Occasional travel may be required as part of the role
