The Role:

You’ll be responsible for the design and development of electronics hardware across a range of advanced systems, contributing to both new product development and continuous improvement of existing designs. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence design decisions and ensure high standards across all projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop analogue and digital electronics hardware
  • Work on low power, low noise system design
  • Lead hardware design reviews and support technical decision making
  • Develop and support embedded firmware (C / C++)
  • Carry out hands-on fault finding across hardware and embedded systems
  • Ensure designs meet EMC and regulatory compliance standards
  • Produce clear and structured technical documentation
  • Collaborate across engineering and production teams
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes
What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong experience in electronics hardware design (analogue & digital)
  • Experience working with FPGA, MPU, or similar architectures
  • Good understanding of low power and low noise system design
  • Knowledge of EMC design and testing standards
  • Experience with embedded C or C++ on microprocessors
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and design direction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience with PCB design tools (e.g. Altium)
  • Experience working on complex or high-reliability systems
  • Background in instrumentation, data logging, or similar technologies
  • Experience supporting production or manufacturing environments
Additional Information:

Occasional travel may be required as part of the role. Opportunity to mentor and support other engineers within the team.
