We’re currently working exclusively with a global leader in industrial and process gases to recruit a Shift Manager for their strategically important South Wales facility.
The Role
This is a shift-based position that operates on a rotating pattern of days and nights, with a block of days off at the end of each cycle to support work/life balance. As Shift Manager, you will:
- Lead and coordinate all operations on-site during your shift, ensuring pipeline and liquid production targets are met safely and efficiently.
- Take responsibility for filling hydrogen trailers and supporting key customer contracts.
- Act as the most senior person on site during your shift, including in emergency situations.
- Monitor and optimise plant performance, working closely with the remote operations centre (ROC).
- Ensure full compliance with internal safety protocols, permits to work, and statutory regulations.
- Oversee contractor activities and support operations at satellite sites as needed.
About You
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- An ONC or HNC in Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in a shift leadership role within a chemical, gas, or similar process plant.
- Strong operational knowledge of ASUs, reformers, carbon monoxide installations, or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with pipeline customer contracts and emergency response protocols.
- A solid understanding of HSE legislation and permit-to-work systems.
