Quality Engineer

DCS engineering are currently recruiting a detail oriented, methodical quality engineer on behalf of our market leading sub contract aerospace client. You will play an integral part in the investigation and response to non-conformances, analysis of quality data and driving continuous improvement, maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment and assisting with internal and external audits.

You will also work closely with the quality department of other group business units, clients and suppliers as part of the wider aerospace supply chain. As a key member of the quality team, you may be required to work offsite from time to time and deputise for the quality manager during periods of annual leave or absence and provide a range of quality report or other updates to the senior leadership team as required.

Preferred Skills

  • Good understanding of the quality management system (QMS) in either the Aerospace or Automotive industry.
  • Expertise in either AS9100 FAIR collation / review / Approval or Non-Conformance reports (creation / investigation / problem solving / close out) and MRB.
  • ISO9001, ISO140001 and NADCAP experience.
  • Use of various inspection equipment and ability to understand inspection reports.
  • Excellent communication skills are imperative.
  • Must have a good team working ethic, be highly proactive and motivated.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Excellent customer facing skills.
  • An understanding of sheet metal and assembly manufacturing processes.
  • IT literate, in particular Sap, Microsoft project, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commercial and strategic awareness.
  • The Ability to work flexible hours should the business need arise.
