DCS Engineering is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a highly respected specialist aviation organisation supporting complex and technically demanding airborne programmes. This organisation operates across several UK sites and is entering an exciting new phase of a long-term aviation and defence programme.
Due to continued expansion, they are seeking experienced Avionic Technicians (B2) to join their engineering team at a key operational site in Lasham, Wiltshire. This is a rare opportunity to work within a unique test, development, and specialist flying environment, supporting a highly specialised aircraft platform.
As an Avionic Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring aircraft safety, reliability, and availability. Working closely with Licensed Engineers and reporting to the Station Engineer, you will support both scheduled and unscheduled line maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory and organisational standards.
Although operating on a structured 5–5–4 shift pattern, the role offers excellent work–life balance within a professional weekday environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Licensed Aircraft Engineers with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- Carry out routine inspections and assist with defect rectification
- Support avionics modification and upgrade programmes
- Accurately record all maintenance activities in line with regulatory requirements
- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation
- Ensure full compliance with quality, safety, and airworthiness procedures
- Provide support at other UK sites when operationally required
Aircraft & Training
- Initial work will be on Boeing 757 aircraft
- Experience on Boeing aircraft is advantageous
- Candidates without direct 757 experience will be considered
- Funded type training provided where required
- Accommodation supplied during training periods
- Planned future progression onto Boeing 737 NG
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in Avionics (B2). You will ideally have:
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Mechanic or Avionic Technician
- Experience working on large commercial aircraft (essential)
- Background within a Part 145 MRO environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and maintenance documentation
- High attention to detail with a strong safety and quality mindset
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
