The business delivers planned and reactive maintenance across large-scale commercial properties and is recognised for maintaining high compliance standards and strong client relationships within the retail sector. This role would suit a confident and technically strong Air Conditioning Engineer who enjoys working in a mobile role. The position is predominantly service and repair focused, with limited installation work, alongside supporting general building maintenance tasks where required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, fault-find, and repair commercial air conditioning systems
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call-outs
  • Work on a range of equipment including split systems, VRF/VRV, and packaged units
  • Handle manual compressors and manufacturer-specific systems (e.g. Airedale, DX Cooling)
  • Carry out general building maintenance tasks as required across retail sites
  • Accurately complete job reports, compliance documentation, and service records
  • Liaise professionally with clients and internal support teams
  • Participate in the regional on-call rota when required
Key Skills:
  • Proven experience working on commercial air conditioning systems
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Experience within a mobile service and repair role
  • Ability to carry out basic general maintenance tasks
  • Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills:
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
  • Experience within retail or facilities management environments
  • Manufacturer training or experience with Airedale/DX systems
  • Multi-skilled background (gas, electrical or general building maintenance exposure beneficial)
What you get in return:
  • Salary £41,000 - £44,000
  • Company vehicle provided (fitted with safety cameras – no live monitoring or audio)
  • Structured regional on-call rota (one engineer per region)
  • On-call retainer and enhanced rates
  • Permanent opportunity within a stable and growing organisation
