Essex | Field based | Permanent & Full-time

We are proud to be partnering with a highly respected aviation operator recognised for delivering exceptional helicopter emergency medical services for more than two decades. Due to ongoing expansion, our client is seeking a dedicated B1.3 Licensed Engineer to join their professional engineering team supporting vital Air Ambulance operations across Essex.

This is an opportunity to apply your skills in a role that genuinely makes a difference. The aircraft you care for will be central to time-critical missions, meaning your expertise will contribute directly to saving lives across the region.

About the Role

Working closely with the Line Maintenance Supervisor, you will operate with a high level of independence while remaining part of a deeply experienced, supportive engineering team. The role involves providing mobile support across two operational bases, maintaining the aircraft to consistently high standards and ensuring they are ready for deployment when needed.

This position is well suited to an engineer who enjoys autonomy, thrives on responsibility, and takes pride in precision, safety, and reliability.

Key Requirements

  • EASA/UK Part-66 B1.3 licence (essential)
  • Type ratings on AW169 and/or AW109 are highly desirable but not mandatory
  • Strong self-discipline and commitment to maintaining aircraft to an exceptional standard
  • Comfortable working mobile across multiple bases

Aircraft Types

  • Primarily AW169
  • Potential involvement with AW109

Benefits & Package

Alongside a competitive salary and allowances, the successful candidate will receive a comprehensive benefits package designed to support personal wellbeing, financial security, and work–life balance:

  • 23 days holiday
  • Shutdown period (not aligned with Air Ambulance operations)
  • Time off in lieu for bank holiday work
  • Private healthcare
  • Income protection—50% salary paid for up to two years
  • Death in service benefit – 3x salary
  • Contributory pension scheme (5% employer contribution)
  • Company van provided due to the mobile nature of the role
  • Eligibility for a growing Employee Bonus Scheme, linked to company performance

This company is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
