Are you a strategic technical sales leader with a substantial track record of BD experience with a degree in engineering or science? Do you have knowledge and experience within the marine and maritime sector? Have you ever had experience around project management with cross-functional teams? Are you within a commutable distance of either Manchester or Didcot (OX) and do you hold a full UK driving licence? Would you be interested in working with a high expertise team developing and supplying a range of physical modelling technology for hydraulic, marine and coastal research facilities?

What you need…
- Diploma; bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant engineering/science discipline;
- A substantial track record of business development experience;
- Commercial awareness of the marine and maritime equipment sector and a strong aptitude for business development;
- Experience and evidence of project management including directing projects with cross-functional teams;
- Proven ability to hit targets and generate leads;
- Full UK citizenship and full UK driving license.
It’d be amazing, but not essential if you had experience of operating in international markets also.

The Job…
The role will allow you to actively promote the profile of our client’s equipment and to shape their existing strategic group marketing plan leading to organic growth of the group’s annual turnover by 30% over the next three to four years. With their equipment being of a specialist nature, the role would suit someone with an engineering or scientific background with extensive experience of leading and managing a dedicated team within the agreed FY budget.
- Develop and regularly review the group strategic marketing plan and promote our client in the laboratory equipment sectors;
- Responsible for recording, monitoring of prospects together with all financial and export control regulations;
- Regular liaison with the Engineering, Production and Development teams to ensure products fully meet the client requirements;
- Responsible for all bid preparation, tender submission and converting work won into projects;
- Responsibility for all project management delivery;
- Reviewing technical proposals, specifications, and other technical documentation;
- Responsible for the customer support team to provide a prompt response and rectification service to clients;
- Potential for overseas travel in-line with our marketing strategy.
