We are working with a forward-thinking technology business looking to engage an experienced Go Developer on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern engineering environment, contributing to scalable, cloud-native systems.

The Role

You will be joining a high-performing engineering team, building and maintaining Back End services using Go within a cloud-first infrastructure. The work is centred around performance, scalability, and clean architecture.

Tech Environment

  • Cloud: GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Containerisation & Orchestration: GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)
  • Backend: Go (Golang)
  • Database: Postgres
  • AI Coding Assist: Gemini

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimise Back End services in Go
  • Work within a Kubernetes-based microservices architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions
  • Contribute to system design, scalability, and performance improvements
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience with Go (Golang)
  • Proven experience working with GCP and Kubernetes (GKE)
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience with Postgres or similar relational databases
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, distributed team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Contract Details

  • Day Rate: £400-£425
  • IR35 Status: Outside IR35
  • Location: Fully Remote (UK-based preferred)
  • Contract Length: 6 months Initial term with likely extensions
