Merchandising Assistant

Role Purpose
Reporting directly into the merchandisers, the role is to provide trading support, taking ownership of store optimisation, intake management and price optimisation, analysing data to ensure that effective decisions are taken in a timely and accurate manner.
Main Tasks and responsibilities
- Trade Reporting
- WSSI data management
- Working with Buying and Merchandising to manage the repeat process including raising and tracking of intake
- Supplier and logistics management to ensure intake is delivered on time through ownership of the distribution meetings
- Internal system management, ensuring that data is accurate and well managed
- Management of launch trackers, ensuring new ranges are intaked and distributed in a timely manner
- Support the merchandisers and Senior Merchandisers with reporting and analysis for key meetings such as Trade, Sign off, Seasonal Washups, Budgets etc.
- Management of our Allocation & Replenishment system, Nextail, to take ownership of the branch merchandising process.
- Ownership of branch merchandising, managing the store performance and line performance reports to ensure that we are optimising our trade.
- Action and inform Hosts of markdown within their timeframes to ensure they are loaded into their systems
- Management of the online process to ensure products are displayed on the web in a timely and accurate manner
Skills, experience and qualifications
- Competent analytical and numerical skills
- Good working ability with relevant IT systems
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate competently and clearly, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational and task management skills
- Ability to apply logical thinking.
- Previous experience within retail and merchandising desired
