You will be responsible for developing fresh, trend-led scarf and print designs for high street fashion customers, balancing creativity with strong commercial awareness. You will work across seasonal collections, developing artwork from initial concepts through to final production-ready designs. This is an ideal role for a designer who is passionate about print, colour and fashion, with a strong understanding of the high street customer and the ability to translate trends into commercially relevant product.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and interpret global fashion, colour, print and trend direction for upcoming seasons.
- Develop original scarf prints, patterns, motifs and artwork across a range of commercial price points.
- Create trend and concept boards to communicate seasonal direction and design ideas.
- Develop colour palettes and colourways appropriate to the customer and brand.
- Design across a variety of scarf formats, including printed, woven and embellished styles.
- Create repeat patterns and placement artwork, ensuring designs are technically suitable for production.
- Adapt and recolour artwork efficiently to create commercially strong options.
- Work closely with the wider design, buying and product development teams to develop cohesive collections.
- Respond quickly to customer briefs and develop designs to tight deadlines.
- Present design concepts clearly and confidently to internal teams and customers.
- Work with suppliers and factories to ensure artwork is accurately interpreted and produced.
- Review strike-offs, samples and colour standards and make amendments where required.
- Maintain organised artwork files and ensure all designs are production-ready.
- Stay aware of competitor activity and key high street trends to ensure designs remain fresh and relevant.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a print, textile, scarf or accessories designer, preferably within a high street or fashion supplier environment.
- A strong eye for colour, pattern, proportion and trend.
- Excellent knowledge of current fashion and high street trends.
- A commercially driven approach to design, with an understanding of what sells.
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience creating repeats, placements, colourways and production-ready artwork.
- An understanding of textile printing and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of presentation.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- The confidence to work independently while contributing positively to a wider design team.
