Join the multidisciplinary team at Oker Ward, a 12‑bed rehabilitation, complex discharge and end‑of‑life care ward at Whitworth Hospital. Two posts of 23 hours per week (long day or night shift) are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Registered Nurses in delivering person‑centred patient care.
  • Maintain the ward environment, assist with audits, and ensure adherence to trust policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the whole team, including Nursing, OT, PT and others.
  • Record care accurately, maintain confidentiality and comply with information governance.
  • Carry out procedures and treatments prescribed by RNs and report any concerns about patients.
  • Perform shift duties: days, nights, double/single shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Good standard of English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a social care setting is an advantage.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (preferred).
  • Willingness to learn and develop nursing skills; training will be provided.

Working Conditions

  • The ward operates 24 hours, 7‑days a week with shift work.
  • It is fully COVID‑19 compliant. PPE, equipment and uniforms are provided free of charge.

  • Full training, an annual appraisal and development opportunities are offered.
  • The role is not eligible for sponsorship.
