Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Team Leader to join our award-winning firm, to manage and develop a busy litigation support team handling pre-issue, post-issue and post-judgment litigation tasks. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our head office in Runcorn, Cheshire. This role requires a confident and resilient people manager with proven experience leading teams.
DCB Legal Ltd is a specialist in the provision of legal services relating to Civil and Commercial litigation, debt recovery, property, and High Court Enforcement disputes. We focus on providing a contemporary low touch, bespoke legal service in our specialist field of debt recovery and litigation.

Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day management of litigation processes across pre-issue, post-issue and post-judgment matters.
- Ensure all court deadlines, procedural requirements and regulatory obligations are met.
- Supervise case progression, workflows, and task allocation to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Identify process improvements to enhance productivity, accuracy and client outcomes.
- Work closely with fee earners, solicitors, and senior management to support litigation strategy and operational delivery.
- Lead, motivate and manage a team with varied personalities and performance levels.
- Handle performance management, disciplinary issues, grievances and conflict resolution professionally and in line with HR policies.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, appraisals, and development planning for team members.
- Foster a professional, collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Provide coaching, training and support to improve technical and behavioural performance.
- Ensure compliance with CPR, court rules, SRA regulations, internal policies and best practice standards.
- Maintain accurate reporting on KPIs, productivity, and quality metrics.
- Escalate risks, delays or operational issues to senior management appropriately.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience leading or supervising a litigation or legal operations team.
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes including pre-issue, post-issue and enforcement/post-judgment procedures.
- Demonstrable people-management experience, including handling difficult team dynamics, performance issues and conflict.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to challenge and influence.
- Good IT skills and experience using case management systems.
Desirable
- Experience working within a UK law firm or legal services environment.
- Knowledge of CPR and court procedures across County Court and High Court.
- Experience implementing process improvements or change management.
