Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Human Resources Advisor to join our dynamic team. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing core HR processes, advising both employees and managers, and ensuring compliance with all HR policies and employment legislation. You will lead on Employee Relations (ER) casework, supervise a direct report, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency, fairness, and alignment with best practices and legal standards. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Employee Relations (ER) casework, with support from your line manager and direct report.
- Work closely with HR colleagues to ensure a consistent, legal, and ethical approach to HR matters, in line with the ACAS Code of Practice.
- Serve as the first point of contact for general HR queries from employees and the Operations Team.
- Provide timely and accurate advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment terms, resolving issues where possible or escalating to the HR Director when necessary.
- Deliver guidance and support on a wide range of HR issues, including:
- Probationary reviews
- Investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, mediation, and appeals
- Performance improvement and capability processes
- Statutory rights and right-to-work checks
- Manage absence-related matters, including:
- Welfare meetings
- Occupational health referrals
- Return-to-work cases and ill-health capability reviews
- Support the Operations Team with organisational change processes such as restructures, redundancies, redeployment, and TUPE transfers.
- Attend HR meetings to take notes and, where necessary, act as an interpreter (English/Spanish).
- Draft formal HR documentation, including meeting minutes and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all HR cases for reporting and auditing.
- Conduct ECS and DBS checks as required.
- Ensure timely and secure filing of all HR-related documents.
- Stay current with changes in UK employment law and implement updates as appropriate.
- Participate in ad hoc HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all HR activities comply with the organisation’s Data Protection Code of Practice.
Essential Skills and Behaviours
- In-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices
- Proven experience in a similar HR advisory role, with a strong focus on employee relations
- Experience in supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality
- Professional, diplomatic, and able to handle sensitive situations tactfully
- A positive, solution-focused mindset with a flexible approach to work

Fluency in both English and Spanish written and spoken
Qualifications
- CIPD qualified or working towards qualification (Level 5 or above preferred)
