The British Home is undergoing an exciting period of change and development. This role will manage a growing team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, NeuroâPsychology, Creative Arts Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants, and lead the therapy services toward a Level 2 rehabilitative service.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the therapy strategy in line with the overall transformation programme.
- Lead clinical innovation and modernisation, focusing on new ways of working and operational performance targets.
- Report nationally and individually on rehabilitation programmes, outcomes and capacity utilisation.
- Support and oversee improvements in patient care through bioâsocial, holistic treatment approaches.
- Manage financial performance of the department, including budgeting, costings and fundraising for therapyâled initiatives.
Performance Management
- Monitor and analyse department activity, ensuring KPIs are met and corrective action is taken when necessary.
- Establish UKROC reporting systems and ensure timely data collection for transparency.
- Review and refine policies in accordance with clinical governance and national guidelines.
Financial Management
- Deliver a balanced budget for the Therapies Department.
- Ensure all equipment and services remain under budget while maintaining high rehabilitation standards.
- Collaborate with finance to modernise costings for new admissions.
Personnel
- Lineâmanage teams across multiple disciplines, overseeing recruitment, selection, development and performance appraisal.
- Develop staff workforce plans and mentor junior colleagues in evidenceâbased practice.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary research, clinical audit and interâprofessional working.

Qualifications / Education
- First Level Registered Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC or another HCPCâregistered professional (essential).
- Evidence of continuing professional and clinical development (essential).
- Moving & Handling Trainer (desirable).
- Mentor or mentorship qualification / experience (desirable).
Experience
- Leadership of a mixedâdiscipline therapeutic team (essential).
- Supervision, appraisal, training and coaching of staff (essential).
- Experience with UKROC reporting, FIM & FAM assessments, and integration with nursing care (essential).
- Experience within the gold standard framework of palliative care pathway (desirable).
