With approximately 150 employees, we are a dynamic and growing product design consultancy, based in central Warwick in the heart of England. We deliver world class, multi-disciplinary product development services for our clients across our four established market sectors: 'Medical and Scientific', 'Consumer', 'Commercial and Industrial' and 'Transport', maximising their probability of success. Our focus is on innovation, management of development risk and building long-term partnerships with multinational, blue chip clients.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager to support our growth strategy and further expand our client base. This is a key role responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships and driving revenue growth within the product development services sector.
What we expect you to do:
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within target markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Work closely with market sector teams to agree client and segment targets and associated sales strategies.
- Maintain clear and accurate record of sales activities in our CRM tool.
- Understand and clearly articulate DCA’s unique sales proposition.
- Work closely with the Directors and our existing BDM to help shape and project DCA’s sales proposition.
- Attend industry events and networking opportunities internationally.
- Work on site in Warwick for a minimum of 2 days each week, following your initial induction period.
What you need:
- Proven experience in new business development, sales, or account management within product development or engineering services or a closely related field.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering, design or related subject field.
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and intuition.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a small, focused team.
- Results-driven approach with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Understanding and appreciation of the new product development process.
- Good understanding of the full range of new product development skills, both technical and creative.
- Full UK driving licence and passport valid for international travel.
