Stylist, the multi-platform women’s media brand, is hiring for an Executive Editor with Print and Long Lead focus to join the Editorial Team in our London office on Fleet Street. Stylist is part of the D C Thomson media and publishing company. Stylist is an award-winning women’s media brand with a highly engaged audience of women who want more from their world.
ROLE PURPOSE
Lead the delivery of Stylist’s content across print and digital so output is consistently high quality, on brand, on time and on budget, aligned to the editorial and commercial direction. Provide operational control and senior editorial judgement through print magazine sign-off and approval of digital covers and hero features, holding teams to account for delivery against agreed audience and commercial KPIs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sign off the magazine copy and pages as agreed with the Head of Editorial and approve agreed digital covers and hero features.
- Set day-to-day editorial priorities and workflow for areas in scope, ensuring deadlines and standards are met.
- Lead fashion and beauty direction within agreed editorial strategy, balancing audience needs and commercial priorities.
- Provide clear feedback, coaching and performance management for direct reports, addressing under-performance through agreed people processes.
- Manage allocated freelance budget within agreed limits and approve spend within policy.

They will lead a high-performing team operating with clear expectations, feedback and collaborative ways of working.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Content design and authoring: Ensures content design and authoring standards are applied consistently, providing expert editorial judgement and guidance to improve clarity, accuracy, tone and effective presentation across formats.
- Content publishing: Ensures publishing governance and continuous improvement across channels, advising on structures, workflows and schedules so content is reliably delivered.
- Brand management: Ensures brand guidelines are interpreted and applied across platforms, advising teams to protect brand integrity while meeting audience and commercial needs.
- Digital marketing: Applies digital channel practices (including SEO and optimisation) to support reach, engagement and conversion aligned to business objectives.
- Business intelligence: Interprets and applies data and reporting to inform priorities, turning performance insight into clear themes, actions and recommendations for teams.
- Stakeholder relationship management: Leads stakeholder relationship management to secure alignment and timely decisions across editorial, production and commercial partners.
- Performance management: Leads and develops individual and workgroup performance by setting clear objectives and performance targets aligned to organisational goals, monitoring delivery, providing feedback and coaching, and addressing under-performance to achieve measurable results.
- Adaptability: Adjusting to change and persisting through challenges at personal, team and organisational levels.
