This is a leadership role with real operational impact. You'll oversee a 7-day transport and distribution operation, leading teams, managing fleet compliance, maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners, and driving continuous improvement across the function.

If you enjoy leading people, solving complex operational challenges, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Driving operational performance against service, delivery, safety, and customer targets.
  • Managing fleet compliance, vehicle utilisation, maintenance schedules, and transport regulations.
  • Building strong relationships with publishers, wholesalers, retailers, and distribution partners.
  • Responding proactively to operational challenges and developing effective contingency plans.
  • Using operational data and insight to improve efficiency, service levels, and business performance.
  • Identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across different stakeholder groups.
  • Confidence making decisions and managing competing priorities under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational performance.
  • Good levels of commercial awareness and customer focus.
  • Comfortable using operational systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • CPC qualification in Road Haulage Operations.
  • HGV licence.
  • Experience managing regional or multi-site operations.
  • Knowledge of Home News Delivery (HND) networks.
