We are looking for an organised, detail-focused Book-keeper / Accounting Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong bookkeeping skills and practical accounting experience who enjoys working accurately, meeting deadlines, and providing management accounts to the key team members.
Key responsibilities:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices, receipts and payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintaining bookkeeping records using Xero.
- Preparing and checking bank reconciliations, ledgers and control accounts.
- Assisting with VAT returns, payroll records and management information as required.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end accounts.
- Monitoring accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and customer balances.
- Identifying discrepancies, resolving queries and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Liaising professionally with clients, colleagues, suppliers and external advisers.
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance with internal procedures and relevant deadlines.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts assistance or an accounting technician role.
- AAT qualification, part-qualification or equivalent experience would be welcomed.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Xero, Microsoft Excel and digital systems.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- A practical, proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team.
- Clear communication skills and a professional, client-focused manner.
Ways of working: This role is offered on a part-time basis (3 days per week), with 2 designated core days to be spent in our Meadowside Dundee office.
