About the Role: Working within the Data Science & Insights team at DC Thomson, you will oversee the design, creation, and analysis of core datasets to aid brands such as The Beano, Stylist, Puzzler and The Courier make smarter decisions. You will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the reporting framework and empowering stakeholders across the company via data. This is a hands-on role that will play a crucial part in extracting value from data and thus, driving the growth of DC Thomson. Here’s what the role involves: Working alongside multiple functions: You’ll partner with a variety of teams (such as: product, marketing and editorial) to ensure data is at the heart of all our strategic decisions. Evangelising self-service data analysis: You will inspire stakeholders to use data to tell the customer story and help them understand how data is key to learning from customers to create the best products. Designing and building: Create magic through automated dashboards and reporting, thus, allowing stakeholders to seamlessly integrate data into their day-to-day work. Enriching and creating data models: Ensure we are always using our data in the best way possible to maximise our insight. Being a data leader in the business: Motivating and influencing senior leaders in the business to utilise insight and make data-driven decisions. Maintaining our data governance: Ensuring stakeholders always have access to accurate up to date data. We have a modern data stack already in place centred around a Snowflake data warehouse, dbt as the data transformation tool and our BI tool, Looker. We don’t expect you to be fluent with all these technologies, but we do want you to have experience with the following: Cloud-based data warehouses Evidence of delivering several data projects Complex analysis combining data from multiple sources Presenting analysis in an effective manner to senior leadership Developing analytics strategies to glean the most insight from data Requirements About You: The ideal candidate will: Bring excellent communication skills and a love of working in a team Be an inspiring data leader in the company Challenge the reporting status quo to extract more insight Nurture the data-driven culture at DC Thomson Deliver accurate meaningful data to multiple stakeholders If you said yes to these, and this all sounds appealing, then get in touch.
