Draughtsperson

Location: Stroud

Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a skilled Draughtsperson to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD professional to work on a variety of engineering projects, producing high-quality technical drawings and supporting project delivery from concept through to manufacture and installation.

Role Overview

This role is primarily office and workshop based, with occasional travel to project sites for surveys and data collection. The successful candidate will be involved in producing detailed design drawings, supporting project specifications, and collaborating closely with project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and prepare 3D CAD layout drawings, including dimensions and material specifications.

• Create clear and accurate production drawings and technical documentation.

• Ensure all drawings and works are completed in accordance with company procedures and project specifications.

• Work closely with Project Managers to develop and update engineering drawings.

• Carry out site surveys and gather measurements and technical information as required.

• Assist in the preparation of design specifications and project documentation.

• Maintain accurate drawing records and revisions.

• Support project delivery by ensuring drawings are completed to agreed deadlines.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Draughtsperson, CAD Technician, or similar role.

• Relevant drafting qualifications.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Inventor.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to produce clear, detailed, and accurate technical drawings.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring and recording data.

• Excellent organisational and planning skills.

• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
