Role Overview
The Project Engineer will support all stages of engineering projects, working alongside site teams, mechanical fitters, supervisors, and project managers. You will assist with project costing and tendering, design input, procurement, documentation, risk assessments, and client communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering input to ensure efficient project delivery with a solution-focused approach
- Ensure compliance with company, client, and industry standards
- Plan and deliver works with safety as a priority, maintaining a zero-compromise approach
- Assist Project Managers with project documentation, risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans, and programmes
- Provide design input and support design reviews
- Procure materials and subcontractors as needed
- Manage permits to work, including client isolation permits
- Support tendering processes and obtain quotations from key suppliers
- Maintain effective client communications throughout project lifecycle
- Conduct site inspections and promote continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental standards
- Ensure staff use appropriate PPE and adhere to QEHS guidelines
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (required)
- Experience on water industry projects (preferred but not essential)
- Working knowledge of engineering processes and procedures
- Experience in on-site operational environments
- Ability to define and clarify project scope and develop project schedules
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and motivate site teams
Additional Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
