We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer to join our expanding team as a dedicated Commercial Plumber and Drainage expert. Specialising in the high-demand hospitality sector, this is a pivotal, hands-on role where you will serve as the primary technical authority on all commercial plumbing and drainage operations.

As our Lead Engineer, you will work directly alongside the Managing Director as their trusted right-hand technical lead. You will oversee site operations, troubleshoot complex drainage and plumbing infrastructure, and lead engineering solutions from initial inspection through to full project sign-off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the Senior Engineer on-site, providing expert technical guidance, mentorship, and support to assistant engineers and field technicians.
  • Project Delivery: Lead and execute complex commercial plumber and drainage projects throughout Central London and Greater London.
  • Diagnostics & Fault Finding: Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to resolve challenging drainage blockages, pipework failures, and heavy-duty commercial plumbing issues.
  • Surveying & Estimating: Perform detailed site surveys for drainage and plumbing works, scoping out requirements and preparing accurate cost estimations and quotations.
  • Project Management: Manage projects end-to-end as the Lead Engineer, ensuring all drainage and plumbing interventions meet statutory compliance, health & safety standards, and strict quality criteria.
  • Reporting & Logistics: Draft clear technical reports post-inspection and coordinate closely with our Hatfield head office to align schedules, drainage equipment, and materials.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Extensive track record operating as a Commercial Plumber, Drainage Specialist, Senior Engineer, or Lead Engineer.
  • Sector Expertise: Strong background delivering commercial plumbing and drainage solutions within the hospitality industry (hotels, restaurants, bars, and commercial kitchens).
  • Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of commercial drainage systems, high-pressure water jetting, CCTV surveys, plant rooms, and commercial sanitary systems.
  • Estimation & Scoping: Demonstrated ability as a Senior Engineer to independently inspect, price, quote, and deliver drainage and plumbing jobs.
  • Communication & Reporting: Professional report-writing skills to communicate technical drainage and plumbing findings to clients and management clearly.
  • Work Ethic & History: Stable employment history demonstrating long-term commitment as a Lead Engineer or Commercial Plumber.
  • Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.
