The Project Engineer will support and input on a wide range of water industry projects. You will assist in all stages of engineering project lifestyles working with Mechanical Fitters, Supervisors and Project Managers. This site based role will include costing and tendering new projects, input on technical solutions, assisting with design, as well as procurement, project documentation, risk assessment and client communications.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient project delivery with technical engineering input and a solution focussed approach.
- Ensure the company, client and industry standards are always adhered to.
- Plan and deliver all works with safety in mind, ensuring a ‘zero compromise’ approach.
- Assist the Project Manager with all relevant tasks including project documentation, risk assessment and method statements, construction phase plans and project programmes.
- Providing design input and assisting with design reviews.
- Procurement of materials and sub-contractors.
- Seeking and issuing permits to work including client isolation permits.
- Tendering new projects and seeking quotations from key suppliers.
- Ensuring up to date communications with the client.
- Prepare risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) as required.
- Conduct site inspections and strive for continuous improvement in health and safety.
- Ensure a proactive approach to HSE requirements, ensuring staff have the correct PPE.
- Ensure company QEHS guidelines are adhered to and that high standards are maintained.
Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering qualification required.
- Water industry projects preferred though not essential.
- Working knowledge of engineering processes and procedures.
- Experience in on-site operational environments.
- Capability to define and clarify project scope.
- Capability to develop project schedule and plan.
- Excellent communications skills verbal and written.
- Ability to manage and motivate site teams.
- UK Driving Licence.
- Right to Work in the UK on permanent basis.
