An established glazing and window solutions business near Loudwater is seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Trade Counter Manager to take the lead in running its trade counter operation. This is a key position for someone with strong customer service and organisational skills who can confidently manage both walk-in and trade customer enquiries from first contact through to order fulfilment. This is a hands-on, autonomous role with real responsibility and scope for progression as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the trade counter, serving retail and trade customers in person, by phone, and via email
- Provide expert advice and guidance on glazing product options to meet customer requirements
- Handle all aspects of the order process, including quoting, supplier ordering, scheduling installations, and keeping customers informed
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business
- Quickly and effectively resolve any customer queries or issues
- Raise invoices and support payment collection
- Manage stock levels and deliveries, including chasing, checking, and logging deliveries
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional trade counter environment
- Carry out administrative tasks, maintain accurate records, and use standard office software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 yearsβ experience working on or managing a trade counter
- Experience in glazing or construction-related products is a strong advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of organisation and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proactive and problem-solving mindset
- Confident using Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Fluent in English with solid maths skills
- Must live within commutable distance of the High Wycombe area
- Right to work in the UK
