On behalf of one of our established clients, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assembly Technician to join their production team in North Acton. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling high-quality windows and doors in accordance with technical specifications and drawings. This role requires the ability to work independently, provide support to less experienced team members, and ensure a clean, organised, and safe workspace. You will also play a key role in quality assurance by signing off on completed panels.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assembly and Fabrication: Assemble windows and doors using hand and power tools according to technical specifications; apply silicone and gaskets accurately and efficiently during assembly.
  • Reading and Interpreting Technical Drawings: Understand and follow detailed technical drawings and specifications for production.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all assembled products for defects prior to sign-off; identify and report any faults or issues during the assembly process.
  • Independent Work: Manage tasks effectively with minimal supervision and ensure workload is completed to meet production targets.
  • Team Support: Assist and guide less experienced team members with assembly tasks and troubleshooting; share best practices to improve team performance.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures; maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Forklift Operations: Assist with loading and unloading materials using a forklift.
  • Documentation: Sign off on completed panels to confirm they meet quality standards and maintain accurate records of completed work.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as requested by the Production Manager to meet the needs of the business.
