Overview

Delivery Drivers' Mate - Role Summary

Main purpose of the role: Support the delivery and collection of glazed units, tools and materials, and assist fitters both at the workshop and on site.

Key tasks & responsibilities

  • Comply with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and relevant risk assessments.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks/vans for deliveries.
  • Coordinate with fitters on delivery/collection timeframes.
  • Notify the logistics team once jobs are completed.
  • Help ensure goods are transported safely and delivered on time.
  • Collect stock or goods from collection points and ensure items are handled and delivered in good, safe condition.
  • Assist with route planning and navigation when required.
  • Keep vehicles clean, safe and ready for use before and after each journey.
  • Provide assistance in the Workshop (W/S) and Unit 1, or support fitters on sites when no deliveries are scheduled.

Other duties

  • Safely handle heavy glass.
  • Submit consumables requirements to the Stock Controller so items can be prepared.
  • Wear full and appropriate PPE at all times; maintain and request replacements, as necessary.
