Overview
Delivery Drivers' Mate - Role Summary
Main purpose of the role: Support the delivery and collection of glazed units, tools and materials, and assist fitters both at the workshop and on site.
Key tasks & responsibilities
- Comply with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and relevant risk assessments.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks/vans for deliveries.
- Coordinate with fitters on delivery/collection timeframes.
- Notify the logistics team once jobs are completed.
- Help ensure goods are transported safely and delivered on time.
- Collect stock or goods from collection points and ensure items are handled and delivered in good, safe condition.
- Assist with route planning and navigation when required.
- Keep vehicles clean, safe and ready for use before and after each journey.
- Provide assistance in the Workshop (W/S) and Unit 1, or support fitters on sites when no deliveries are scheduled.
Other duties
- Safely handle heavy glass.
- Submit consumables requirements to the Stock Controller so items can be prepared.
- Wear full and appropriate PPE at all times; maintain and request replacements, as necessary.
