The Role
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will lead site-based teams in the delivery of planned project works and maintenance programs across water treatment assets. You will bridge the gap between project management and site execution, ensuring technical excellence and 'zero compromise' safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Leadership: Plan daily works, manage site diaries, and ensure the right skills are applied to every task.
- Technical Support: Perform mechanical fault-finding and provide hands-on assistance to operatives with pumps, motors, and pipework.
- Safety Management: Lead dynamic risk assessments, enforce safety procedures, and report near-misses/non-conformances.
- Project Liaison: Conduct site surveys and attend client meetings to resolve access or planning issues.
- Quality Control: Ensure installations are completed efficiently, to high standards, and without the need for re-attendance.
Your Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Apprenticeship: Successfully completed a Modern Apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- On-Site Experience: Proven track record in an on-site engineering environment (industrial or utilities).
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of pumps, motors, screens, and pipework.
- Certification: Valid CSCS card and a full UK Driving Licence.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for client and team coordination.
Desired (But not essential):
- EUSR Water Hygiene / Sewage.
- Confined Space (High Risk).
- Plant Op: IPAF, PASMA, or Abrasive Wheels certification.
