Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Repair: Assemble, install, and commission mechanical equipment, including pumps, screens, pipework, and valves.
- Maintenance: Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on pumping systems and respond efficiently to emergency shutdown works.
- Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic technology (e.g., vibration sensors, infra-red cameras) to ensure system integrity, safety, and compatibility.
- Technical Literacy: Interpret mechanical drawings, station schematics, and site blueprints with high accuracy.
- Safety First: Complete Point of Work Risk Assessments and adhere strictly to site RAMS to ensure a safe working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: Successfully completed a Modern Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Proven hands‑on background in an on‑site engineering or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of pumps, pipework, screens, and motors.
- Safety: Must hold a valid CSCS Card (or equivalent).
- Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Nice-to-Haves (Advantageous but not essential)
- EUSR Water Hygiene / Sewage or High-Risk Confined Spaces certification.
- PASMA / IPAF / Abrasive Wheels training.
