DC Personnel are looking for General Operatives for our client who are a glass manufacturing company Location: Leicester, Near City Centre (On-site Parking & Bike Shed) Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Friday 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (39.5 hours/week) + Overtime Available Pay: £12.21 per hour Contract: Temporary leading to Permanent (after 12 weeks) About the Company Our client is a specialist glass manufacturer based in Leicester, renowned for producing a wide range of high-quality glass products for kitchens, including splashbacks, mirrors and bespoke shaped and painted glass components. The facility is equipped with advanced CNC machines, paint lines, overhead cranes and liquid washing machines, supporting efficient and precise production processes. The Role We are currently looking for reliable General Operatives to join the team and support production across multiple lines. You’ll be involved in handling glass and metal materials, operating sophisticated machinery to cut, shape, paint and wash glass and supporting overall production workflow. No prior machine experience is necessary — full training will be provided on-site for all machinery, including CNC and paint line operations. The opportunity to train further and grow your skills is available if the management believes you’re a good fit for machine operation roles. Key Responsibilities • Safely handling glass and metal materials, including some heavy lifting • Loading and unloading materials and finished products • Operating production machines to cut, shape, paint and wash glass items such as kitchen splash backs and mirrors • Following strict health and safety guidelines and using provided PPE • Supporting warehouse operations, including overhead crane usage (training may be provided) What We Offer • Full on-site training for all production machinery and processes • On-site parking and secure bike shed • Convenient location close to Leicester city centre with shops nearby • Opportunity to work with advanced equipment including CNC machines, paint lines and liquid washing systems • Overtime opportunities for additional earnings • A friendly and supportive working environment Additional Information If you have previous experience as a FLT (Forklift Truck) driver or crane operative, this is a bonus and may open up additional roles within the company.
