The COO – Project is responsible for overseeing the operational execution of hyperscale data center projects in the UK. This includes leading all project operations such as design, construction, procurement, commissioning, and HSE. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to the highest quality standards. The COO provides strategic and operational leadership, aligns project execution with corporate objectives, drives performance and efficiency, manages risks, and fosters a high-performance project culture. The position also involves financial oversight, stakeholder management, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • MBA or Executive Education in project or operational leadership is advantageous
  • Extensive knowledge of large-scale construction and mission-critical projects, preferably data centers
  • Expertise in project execution, operational management, and process optimization
  • Proficiency in project management, planning, and reporting software
  • Strong understanding of financial management, risk management, and governance
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English
  • 12+ years in project or operational management, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
  • Proven experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary, high-value construction projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and cross-functional operations
  • Experience in hyperscale data center, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects is preferred
  • Strategic, proactive, and results-oriented leadership
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication abilities
  • Calm and organized under pressure; adaptable to dynamic project environments
