A new role exists in the Corporate Banking Europe team at DBS London, which focuses on Large Corporate clients, including relationship management, business development, credit analysis, risk control, managing documentation completion and compliance. The Senior Relationship Manager role will be focussed on the Industrial and TMT sectors.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of seven years’ experience within a corporate banking role, with strong business development, portfolio management and credit analysis skills which will be key to success in the role. They will work within a growing corporate banking team, with a remit to expand the existing portfolio. It is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance and dynamic team at a top tier bank, with a focused strategy on developing our franchise in Asia, through our relationships with European Large Corporate clients.
Key Accountabilities
- To generate new business opportunities with large European corporates who have a strong presence in Asia.
- Maintain and improve relationships with the existing client base and broaden market and corporate knowledge.
- Strong focus on identifying additional earning opportunities through a thorough knowledge of the client, the sector and the Bank’s product capabilities.
- Ensuring the satisfactory credit profile of the portfolio, through production of concise credit analysis in a timely manner for review by the credit risk team and on-going risk monitoring. Includes proficiency with reviewing financial information, producing analysis and having the capability to produce financial forecast modelling.
- To be aware of structural risk and documentary issues and be able to execute, monitor and respond to such issues over the lifetime of facilities.
Job Responsibilities
New Business
- Identify and proactively develop new, profitable business in line with the departmental strategies for European corporates.
- Undertake research and financial analysis of target clients.
- Maintain regular contact with existing and target clients.
- Develop and structure creative credit solutions for existing and target clients.
- Market all bank products and/or services, with assistance of product specialists where required.
- Pursue cross-selling opportunities for DBS Bank group in other markets.
- Prepare credit applications/facility offer letters/review documentation (in liaison with internal/external lawyers as necessary).
- Liaise with other banks to gain new business opportunities.
Account Management
- Ensure all relationships are managed effectively and efficiently.
- Act as the main contact point for allocated client relationships, internally and externally.
- Ensure active account management is maintained, including structuring of creative credit solutions for clients.
- Ensure a high level of customer care and delivery at all times.
- Ensure queries/problems are resolved promptly and efficiently.
Risk Management
- Ensure all new business is in line with Branch risk strategy.
- Ensure that current relationships are fully exploited and creatively managed whilst maintaining acceptable credit risk.
- Process credit applications and reviews as required.
- Liaise with other bank departments to complete facility formalities on a timely basis.
- Conduct periodic reviews in accordance with internal guidelines and ensure ongoing monitoring of credit quality.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external (FCA, etc) regulations and procedures.
