Purpose of the Role
A new role exists at the senior associate level as a credit analyst in the Corporate Banking Europe team at DBS London, which focuses on Large Corporate clients, including relationship management, credit analysis, business development, risk control, managing documentation completion and compliance.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of three years’ experience within a corporate banking role, with strong credit analysis and inter-personal skills which will be key to success in the role. They will work within a growing corporate banking team, with a strong emphasis on team collaboration, and a remit to expand the existing portfolio. It is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance and dynamic team at a top tier bank, with a focused strategy on developing our franchise in Asia, through our relationships with European Large Corporate clients.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain and improve relationships with the large multi-national corporate client base and broaden market and corporate knowledge.
- Strong focus on identifying additional earning opportunities through a thorough knowledge of the client, the sector and the Bank’s product capabilities.
- To provide strategic and marketing support to Relationship Directors.
- Contributing to ensure the annual team income budget is met or surpassed.
- Ensuring the satisfactory credit profile of the portfolio, through production of concise credit analysis in a timely manner for review by the credit risk team and on-going risk monitoring.
- To be aware of structural risk and documentary issues and be able to execute, monitor and respond to such issues over the lifetime of facilities.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and bank internal policies and procedures, including Know-Your-Customer requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Credit:
- Structuring accurate, concise and comprehensive credit applications and annual credit reviews, through assessment of a company’s financials, strengths and weaknesses together with industry analysis, in line with DBS risk parameters as part of an overall risk return assessment.
- To provide ongoing risk monitoring of the client portfolio, including analysis of financial information, financial covenant performance and stress testing where appropriate.
- Ensure effective execution of all facilities post credit approval including legal documentation review and negotiation.
- Documentary support post facility close including management of amendments, waivers and related issues.
- Ensure good working knowledge of DBS credit policies and procedures.
Relationship:
- Relationship management of existing large multi-national corporate clients, ensuring that maximum returns are generated in line with credit approval parameters.
- Being available for travel to Europe and Asia will be involved.
- To provide relationship manager client support and business development activity, as well as client administration and documentation.
- Build good working relationships, and ensure good co-operation with other departments, including cross-border with colleagues in our Singapore head office, and throughout the DBS network.
- Provide timely response and resolution to client and colleague queries/problems.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, policies and guidelines.
