Your role as an Iberian Route Manager will oversee the end-to-end logistics, transportation, and supply chain operations across European borders. They bridge the gap between clients, hauliers, and international partners, ensuring that freight is moved on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with cross-border trade laws. The role is a direct permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct European import and export operations, including groupage, part-load, and full-load freight movements.
- Ensure all cross-border transport aligns with international laws, including post-Brexit customs procedures, tachograph data, and driving hours regulations.
- Prepare competitive customer quotations, manage accounts, and negotiate freight rates with hauliers and agents to maximize company margins.
- Scheduling, filling and planning trailers.
- Build relationships with key accounts, maintain service levels, and act as the senior point of contact for solving delivery delays or operational queries.
- Liaising with overseas agents in Spain and Portugal.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, offering "straight-talking" service, and providing tailored logistics solutions.
- Ensuring all shipments comply with UK/EU customs regulations, including dangerous goods if necessary.
- Identifying opportunities to improve routes and reduce costs for clients.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience and skills in running a European freight service.
- Proven background in European road freight forwarding or transport logistics, often within a fast-paced 3PL (third-party logistics) environment.
- Expertise in road freight legislation and customs processes.
- Strong negotiation, pricing, and financial analysis skills.
- Deep understanding of international customs frameworks, cross-border documentation, and O-License / Driver CPC compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- A commercially driven mindset.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday 37 hours per week
Renumeration and Benefits
- Basic salary of £35,000 - £40,000.
- Bonus scheme.

- 24 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays (additional 2 days after 5 years service and a further 2 days after 10 years, capped at 28 days).
