DBR Group, acting as a Recruitment Business, are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver to work at our client who are a household name in the Driving Industry, in Rochdale, Manchester. Our client is one of the world's leading logistics services providers, offering high-quality international freight forwarder services.

This unique combination explains the transformation of the freight company, founded in 1930, into one of today's most successful logistics companies. They are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join their transport team. As one of the leading suppliers of distribution services within the UK, they are currently expanding their team within their Rochdale depot, offering 1 full-time temporary to permanent position driving Class 1 vehicle.

They are looking for a polite enthusiastic candidate with excellent attendance and punctuality to join their driving team. This role is a temporary to permanent position.

Duties:
  • You will perform Nightly Trunk deliveries within the UK, covering Northampton, Birmingham, Northwest area and Scotland.
  • Nightly trunks are based on a rota system, using both Box trailers, Double Deck trailers and Straight Frame curtain trailers.
  • Daily duties will include timed trailer swaps and delivering/collecting palletised goods to other depots and Palletline sites, from our Depot in Rochdale driving a modern 44T ton vehicle.
  • Night trunking to include Trailer swaps at Northampton Depot.
  • Delivery and collection of pallets in palletline network Birmingham and Haydock, Scottish trunk.
  • Reporting to the fleet manager and the Short Distance Team on a daily basis to ensure deliveries and collections run smoothly.
Requirements:
  • You must have a valid, current HGV licence, a drivers CPC, and ideally ADR driver certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years driving experience.
  • Coupling Uncoupling experience is essential.
  • Curtain sided vehicle experience.
  • Pallet work experience.
  • UK road network essential.
  • Previous driving experience essential.
  • A good solid awareness of the law relating to driver's hours regulations and tachographs in order to be considered for this position.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and extremely reliable.
  • You will have good communication skills, both customer and office and able to work using own initiative.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety.
Hours:

Monday to Friday, with start times from 17:30 - 20:00 working on a rota basis.

Remuneration:

Wages are £41487.56 Per Annum based on 50hr week, paid Monthly on the 25th, Bonus scheme in place up to £3000 per annum.
