DBR Group, acting as an employment business, are recruiting Class 2 drivers for our client in Bury. This client uses DBR Group for ad-hoc work and ongoing work. However, this client will be looking to offer 12-week Temp to Perm positions for the right driver. Newly qualified Class 2 drivers are accepted at this client.

The Job

Working as a professional Class 2 driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of palletised drinks and similar products to school kitchens across the North of England. You will be expected to break down various pallets at your delivery point and take the goods into the school kitchen. This job involves physical work, hand-balling and would be considered as a 50/50 split between driving and unloading. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified Class 2 driver to gain that sought after experience. Start times are generally 0500am. You are paid a minimum of 8 hours per shift. Monday to Friday is the working week. The assignment is to start ASAP. There is a contract option if you are successful with a 12-week Temp to Perm of working a Term Time Contract, meaning you'll be off work during the school holidays. More information about this will be available once you have started working for them.

The Pay (PAYE)

  • Monday to Friday
  • Hourly Rate: £14.00 per hour
  • Overtime after 8 hours: £21.00 per hour
  • Training Rate: £13.00 per hour (Training is usually 3 days with a Driver)

Key Skills Required

  • Class 2 (Category C) Licence Entitlement
  • In Date CPC Card and Tacho Card
  • Physically fit and able to carry out the role
  • Excellent geographical knowledge
  • A sound understanding of the WTD and Drivers hours rules
