DBLO Associates Architects is looking for an experienced Revit Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician to join our London studio. We are a design-led architectural practice working on ambitious live and upcoming projects in the UK and internationally. We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technician who can play a central role in the detailed technical design and delivery of our projects.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who takes real satisfaction in making good architecture buildable: resolving details, coordinating information, anticipating problems and helping project teams deliver with confidence. Experience working on hospitality, commercial, aviation, cultural, public, mixed-use or other complex building projects would be beneficial. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on substantial projects requiring coordinated technical delivery at pace.

A qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline is welcomed, and CIAT membership would be an advantage. However, practical experience, technical judgement and the quality of your work are more important to us than titles.

The successful candidate will work closely with project architects, directors, consultants and the wider design team to develop, coordinate and deliver high-quality technical information across developed design, tender and construction stages.

The role will include:

  • developing projects through detailed design, tender and construction stages
  • producing and coordinating comprehensive technical drawing packages
  • developing and maintaining Revit models
  • resolving construction details while maintaining the architectural design intent
  • coordinating architectural information with consultant information
  • reviewing consultant and subcontractor information and identifying coordination issues
  • preparing schedules, details and drawing packages to agreed deadlines
  • assisting with site queries, revisions and coordination where required
  • applying a strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction methods and procurement
  • supporting project architects and directors in the technical delivery of projects
  • maintaining good drawing standards and project documentation
  • communicating confidently with consultants, contractors and clients
  • contributing your experience to the wider studio and helping maintain high standards of technical delivery

We are looking for someone with:

  • at least five years of relevant UK professional experience
  • strong Revit capability
  • strong AutoCAD skills
  • experience working as an Architectural Technician, Architectural Technologist or technically focused architectural team member
  • demonstrable experience of detailed design and construction-stage work
  • good knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • experience producing coordinated technical drawing packages
  • good construction detailing knowledge
  • the ability to work accurately and independently
  • strong communication and coordination skills
  • a proactive and practical approach to problem solving

The ideal candidate will be organised, technically capable and confident working both independently and as part of a small team. You should be comfortable taking responsibility for drawing production, coordinating information and helping projects move forward efficiently. You will need to be Revit competent and able to contribute quickly to live project work. You should also be able to show clearly what you personally contributed to the projects in your portfolio. We are particularly interested in seeing examples of technical drawings, coordinated packages and construction details rather than presentation imagery alone. Please identify your personal role and contribution on each project included in your portfolio.

DBLO Associates Architects is an established, friendly and collaborative design-led practice, offering exposure to a wide range of technically interesting projects in the UK and internationally. We offer direct involvement with senior members of the studio, genuine opportunities to develop your responsibilities and career and a working environment where strong coordination, careful detailing and practical delivery are central to the work we do.

Please send your CV, a concise portfolio no more than 5MB in size, examples of your technical work and a short covering letter telling us about yourself, your particular career interests and what you would like the next stage of your career to involve.
