Warehouse & Site Operations Manager – Join the DBL Logistics Team!
DBL Logistics is a local, family-owned transport company dedicated to providing top-quality pallet delivery services. We are looking for a hands-on Warehouse & Site Operations Manager to oversee warehouse operations, site logistics, and FLT management, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations.
This is a hands-on role, where you’ll be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, managing goods in & out procedures, optimizing FLT coverage, and ensuring our Warehouse Management System (WMS) is used effectively. You’ll also have overall responsibility for site operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency across the business.
Responsibilities
- Actively managing and supporting a team of FLT drivers, ensuring optimal coverage throughout the day
- Overseeing goods in & out procedures, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and smooth workflow
- Managing the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain stock accuracy and streamline operations
- Taking charge of all site operations, ensuring a safe, organized, and efficient working environment
- Leading from the front, being physically involved in warehouse activities when required
- Identifying inefficiencies and implementing continuous improvement strategies
- Monitoring and reporting on KPIs, ensuring performance targets are consistently met
- Managing site safety, security, and compliance, ensuring adherence to all health & safety regulations
- Attending monthly management meetings, reporting on warehouse and site performance, challenges, and improvements
- Conducting stock counts, audits, and site inspections to maintain high operational standards
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience in hands-on warehouse and site operations management
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team of FLT drivers
- A solid understanding of WMS systems and experience in their management
- Ability to actively support and allocate FLT coverage to optimize logistics operations
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, hands-on approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in site safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
Qualifications (Licences & Certifications)
- Full UK driving licence
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification (advantageous but not essential)
- Counterbalance FLT licence (required)
- VNA licence (preferred)
- Driving Licence (required)
