Summary
As a Transport Supervisor, you’ll be the link between our drivers, planners, and customers. You’ll make sure every load leaves on time, every delivery is on spec, and every mile is maximised for efficiency. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy transport office and can keep their cool when things get challenging.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning deliveries & collections
- Day-to-day supervision of the transport team (drivers, loaders etc)
- Briefing and debriefing drivers, ensuring all relevant paperwork is complete
- Monitoring vehicle utilisation, compliance, and fuel efficiency
- Ensuring legal compliance (tacho rules, driver hours, vehicle checks)
- Supporting planning and problem-solving any operational issues quickly
- Managing holiday, sickness, and rota cover for drivers
- Maintaining high safety standards in the yard and on the road
- Building strong working relationships with customers and internal teams
- Reporting KPIs and identifying areas for improvement
What We\’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a transport or logistics supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of driver hours, WTD, and transport compliance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- IT literate (TMS experience an advantage)
- A problem-solver who can think on their feet
- Calm under pressure with a “can-do” attitude
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet operational needs
- An experienced Class 1 driver (advantageous but not a deal breaker)
