DBD is seeking a forward-thinking Business Development Lead to drive expansion across our Energy portfolio, including civil nuclear new build, decommissioning and adjacent energy markets. Reporting to the Energy Partner, this role will lead strategic growth initiatives, build senior client relationships and position DBD as a trusted delivery partner across major programmes and frameworks. You will combine sector insight with commercial leadership to unlock new opportunities, strengthen market presence and support long-term business growth.

What you will be doing:

  • Defining and executing the Energy sector growth strategy in alignment with DBD’s wider objectives.
  • Identifying and converting opportunities across civil nuclear, decommissioning and related energy markets.
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders across operators, regulators, Tier 1 contractors and delivery partners.
  • Expanding existing frameworks and contracts to increase scope and value.
  • Leading commercial negotiations and supporting bid strategy.
  • Collaborating with technical capability leads to shape competitive, differentiated solutions.
  • Aligning opportunity pipeline with workforce and resourcing strategy.
  • Providing accurate pipeline forecasting and market intelligence.
  • Acting as a senior representative of DBD across industry engagements and events.

Formal qualifications or training:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven business development experience within civil nuclear, decommissioning or broader regulated energy markets.
  • Strong understanding of UK nuclear frameworks and commercial models.
  • Demonstrable success in securing and growing strategic client relationships.
