Support nuclear waste management programmes in the UK and US through advanced process modelling and simulation. This role focuses on applying chemical engineering modelling techniques to analyse, optimise, and support complex nuclear processing systems.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and apply process and dynamic simulation models to support nuclear waste treatment and processing strategies.
  • Conduct modelling studies, sensitivity analyses, and optimisation to inform engineering and operational decisions.
  • Work with clients and internal teams to translate process challenges into modelling frameworks and deliver technical insights.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations communicating modelling results and recommendations.
  • Use modelling and simulation tools such as gPROMS (preferred), Aspen Plus/HYSYS, AnyLogic, or Simul8.
  • Contribute to modelling activities within a highly regulated engineering environment and support wider digital transformation initiatives.

Formal qualifications or training

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience in process modelling, simulation, or systems modelling in an industrial or consultancy environment.
  • Experience with process modelling tools, ideally gPROMS or Aspen platforms.
  • Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Java, or C++) is beneficial.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as nuclear, chemical processing, energy, or pharmaceuticals is desirable.
