As the Continuous Improvement Technician, you will play a key supporting role in driving daily performance improvements across critical production assets. Working closely with the CI Team Lead and CI Engineer, you will provide the data, analysis, and CI discipline needed to identify losses, solve problems, and sustain improvements on the line.
You will act as the analytical and behavioural link within the Focused Improvement Team (FIT), ensuring that performance data is accurate, visible, understood, and used to drive consistent operational improvement.
Role Purpose
The Continuous Improvement Technician supports the delivery of continuous improvement activity by providing accurate data, structured analysis, and hands-on CI discipline across the production environment. This role ensures that performance issues are clearly identified, properly understood, and effectively communicated to support decision-making within the CI Team. Working closely with operations and engineering teams, the CI Technician helps embed standard work, CI tools, and problem-solving behaviours into daily activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyse, and interpret OEE/MME data, downtime, waste, and performance losses
- Identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities across production lines
- Support the CI Team Lead in deploying RMS Standard and CI tools within the FIT programme
- Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and structured problem-solving activities
- Support implementation and tracking of long-term corrective actions
- Maintain and update performance systems including QlikView, OEE tools, and CI dashboards
- Prepare daily performance boards, huddles, and visual management tools
- Communicate data insights and improvement opportunities to operational and CI stakeholders
- Coach operators and frontline teams on basic CI tools, standards, and behaviours
- Support standardisation of processes and ensure adherence to agreed best practice
- Work cross-functionally to support improvements in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People KPIs
- Ensure CI documentation, records, and reporting are accurate and up to date
- Actively support continuous improvement culture through presence on the shop floor
About You
You are an analytical, detail-focused team player who enjoys working with data and people in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You have a strong understanding of how performance is measured and improved, and you are motivated by solving problems and supporting operational excellence. You are confident engaging with operators and engineers, and you understand the importance of structure, consistency, and discipline in continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Strong IT and analytical capability (Excel, OEE tools, QlikView or similar)
- Strong understanding of H&S, food safety, and manufacturing principles
Desirable
- Experience in high-speed automated manufacturing environments
- Six Sigma Green Belt qualification
