The Venue Account Manager is the primary commercial contact for a managed venue, responsible for winning and retaining event business through accurate and compelling quotes, strong client relationships, and effective collaboration with the technical delivery team. Operating within a fast-paced, high-expectation venue environment, the role requires a confident and commercially minded individual who understands both the client experience and the operational realities of live event production.

Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, Primarily Monday-Friday 09:00-18:00

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaison with high-level clients; attend client meetings and show rounds.
  • Preparation and administration of quotations including using standard pricing, sourcing quotations for externally provided equipment and services, and applying the correct markups where appropriate.
  • Liaison with the venue sales departments, including reporting and strategy development.
  • Creation of 2D floor plans, set designs, and additional supporting documents for proposals.
  • Accurate entry of information into the hire management and CRM systems.
  • Responsibility for billing the venue via our system.
  • Close liaison with the delivery team to ensure that won work is managed effectively.
  • Creating quotations that satisfy client budgets while maintaining expected margins and overall commercial viability.
  • Close liaison with wider business functions such as Business Development and Marketing for wider strategy.

Defining Success in This Role

  • Quotations are produced accurately and issued promptly, with margin targets consistently met.
  • The client experience is prioritised from first contact through to post-event follow-up, with requirements accurately captured, consistently communicated to the delivery team, and reflected in the outcome.
  • Confirmed events are handed over to the delivery team in a clear, complete, and timely manner.
  • Billing is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong working relationships are maintained with venue sales teams, internal operations, and key stakeholders.
  • Pipeline and job data in our systems are accurate and kept up to date at all times.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of AV, lighting, audio, staging, rigging, and scenic disciplines sufficient to scope and price events accurately.
  • Ability to produce supporting proposal documents including 2D floor plans and visual packs.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using hire management, CRM, or similar digital platforms to manage quotations and job data.
  • Understanding of margin principles, third-party cost management, and commercial mark-up application.

Professional Skills

  • A commercially minded approach, with a practical understanding of production costs, supplier markets, and pricing decisions, and a clear sense of the account manager's responsibility for event profitability.
  • Strong client communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage relationships at a senior level.
  • Confident managing stakeholders across multiple levels, including venue operations, sales, finance, and facilities teams.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in quotation preparation and documentation.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a venue-based Account Manager, Sales Manager, or technical production role with direct client-facing responsibility.
  • Proven experience preparing multi-level quotations and proposals across a range of event types and scales.
  • Experience sourcing, briefing, and managing third-party suppliers, including applying appropriate markups and managing costs effectively.
  • Experience working within a managed venue or venue partnership environment is desirable.
  • Demonstrable understanding of event production workflows and the relationship between commercial and operational functions.
