Description Job Title: Site Manager Reports to: Project Manager Location: London and the South East This role is site based however the post holder may be required to travel to ensure that the needs of the business are met. Key Responsibilities: Health and Safety: o Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all project sites. o Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures. o Undertake duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which form part of the Integrated Management System. o Ensure work undertaken conforms to legislative requirements, industry standards and company policy. o Embrace a culture of safe behaviour and contractor health and safety within the engineering areas and site compounds. o Support and embrace a culture enhancing behavioural awareness to reduce accidents, incidents and near misses. o Asset Management Develop efficient and effective asset care programmes. Manage/Develop People o Ensure that the engineering workforce is appropriately trained and managed to be able effectively and safely to deliver their tasks in line with Subcontract scopes and/or direct labour and ensuring the stability and continuity of this workforce consistent with the long-term needs of the project. o Align self and deploy resource appropriately to meet the sites and overall project strategy. o Challenge work practices and processes to achieve improved performance. o Manages, develops and motivate the engineering teams ensuring they have the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience necessary to carry out engineering projects effectively. o Develop a culture of ownership within the project team for the on-going delivery of the project. Person Specification Essential: o Graduate or of Graduate calibre, ideally with a further engineering qualification, hands-on experience with a demonstrable track record of success. o SMSTS and/or IOSH Managing Safely. o Ensuring adherence to design brief and project scope. o Conduct site inspections and quality control checks. o Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and documentation. o Demonstrable track record of achieving results / managing change. o Strong operational grounding within a complex fast moving manufacturing environment. o Track record of leadership in the planning delivery and implementation of large- scale M&E projects. Experience within renewables or District heating would be advantageous. o Experience of delivering results against financial targets, service levels and safety standards. o Good working knowledge of operating systems Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. o Experience of managing people and dealing with Subcontractors of various disciplines o Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desirable: o Experience of operating utilities plant and project management. o Practical electrical engineering experience including legislation. o Experience of working in tandem with client NEC supervisor
