Responsible to Managing Director
General responsibility:
- Prepare subcontractor tender packages and manage tender returns, as well as conducting subcontractor tender analysis and making recommendations.
- Provide pre-contract bid and contract support, participate in prospective client pitch presentations, and assist in handing over construction documentation to the Construction Manager.
Specific responsibilities:
- Reading Employer’s Requirements and other supporting documents for tenders.
- Take off drawings using Bluebeam software (training will be provided).
- Sending out enquiries to subcontractors and collating quotes – carrying out comparisons.
- Attending subcontractor meetings.
- Taking notes.
- Prequalifying new suppliers.
- Attending technical workshops and project meetings.
- Developing preconstruction programmes.
- Arranging meetings.
- Building Analyses and Property Evaluations.
- Assessing and interpreting client brief for works cost planning.
- Co-ordination of sub-contractors to survey site.
- Reviewing scope of work on site with sub-contractors in order to cost the works.
- Analysing and negotiating subcontractor tender returns and making recommendations to Technical Directors.
- Preparing specifications and estimating projects using Excel spreadsheet system.
- Preparing technical documentation for presentations to prospective clients.
- Formatting and managing pre-contract programme relating to bid and agreeing works duration with contracts team.
- Planning applications and Building Control coordination and submissions.
- License to Alter submissions.
- Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety within the company, including adherence of all CDM requirements.
- Ensuring drawings are accurate and based on dimensional site surveys.
- Ensuring compliance to Building Regulations, Planning Regulations and Building Control Legislations.
- To comply with all company policies and procedures that relate to anti-bribery, quality, environment and health and safety.
Skills / experience required:
- Degree level qualification.
- Experience of cost planning with skill set to value engineer a design.
- A commercial background and some experience of construction.
- Good presenter and listener.
- High self-motivation, enthusiasm and ambition.
- Desire to succeed with a positive can-do attitude.
- 1+ years industry experience.
- Basic knowledge of the JCT.
